Eric Simms WOODLAND BIRDS First Edition Thus Hardback 1990
First edition thus hardback of WOODLAND BIRDS by Eric Simms and published by Bloomsbury Books in 1990.The book is in near fine condition (cream cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine) with light rubbing to spine edges. The book is in a very good- unclipped dust jacket which has a couple of chips and tears to the top of the spine and light scuffing to the edges. There are also a few light folding creases to the front and back inner flaps. Internally the pages are clean and tight and there are no tears or inscriptions.
The author first considers the general environment of trees, then the nature of a woodland bird; the bird communities supported by the most important tree species; the role of birdsong and concludes with an invaluable species-by-species account of British woodland birds. A book of absorbing interest to bird-watchers throughout the country.
