First edition first print hardback of GUADALCANAL: DECISION AT SEA (The Naval Battle of Guadalcanal November 13-15, 1942) by Eric Hammel and published by Crown Publishers, Inc in 1988. Signed 'Best Wishes' by Hammel on the front endpaper. Numberline is 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1.The book is in very good condition (quarter-bound blue boards with silver lettering to black cloth spine) with light bumping to the top corner of the front board and bottom corner of the back board, two small indentations to the top edge of the back board and light creasing to the top and bottom of the spine. The front page edges have some barely noticeable very light small stains. The book is in a very good unclipped dust jacket which has light creasing to the bottom of the front cover and top and bottom of the spine and back cover. Internally the pages are very lightly age tanned but clean and tight and there are no tears or other inscriptions.
This is the concluding volume in Eric Hammel's series of three independent books that focus on the Guadalcanal campaign and explore all the elements that made it a turning point of the war in the Pacific.
