33rpm 15-track LP Record of EMC 3017 A GORGEOUS GALLERY OF GALLANT INVENTIONS, An Anthology of Popular Music from the 12th to the 17th Century, by The City Waites (Roddy Skeaping, Doug Wooton, Joe Skeaping, Lucie Finch). It was issued on the EMI label in 1974. UK pressing. Matrices YAX 4709 1/YAX 4710 1. The back cover has been signed by all four band members plus Peter Milne, the speaker on their live presentations. Included is an insert with short background notes, band personnel and track listings, plus some promotional material (4 black & white photographs and a programme from their presentation: "How the World Wags")
The record itself is graded a bit less than excellent, with a couple of longish but light surface marks when viewed under normal house lighting. Generally excellent sound quality, with NO jumps or crackle and just the odd dust pop and a couple of ticks on track 1 of Side Two. Otherwise more or less faultless playback.
Minimal to no spindle wear. Labels clean. Light spider marks.
The matt outer sleeve is graded very good, with no more than light rubbing to edges, light bumping to corners, very light sticker removal wear to front cover, back cover lightly soiled, a couple of letters partly obliterated on the spine, all in all pretty minimal. The plain inner sleeve has some age browning. The insert has some light age spots. The promotional programme has a little light staining, while the photographs are in near mint condition.
