First edition first print hardback of NOCTURNE (A Novel of the 87th Precinct) by Ed McBain and published by Hodder & Stoughton in 1997. Signed to a previous owner by McBain on the title page.

The book is in near fine condition (black cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine) with no significant wear apart from some age tanning around the page edges. The book is in a near fine unclipped dust jacket which has no wear to speak of. Internally the pages are otherwise clean and tight and there are no tears or other inscriptions.

It is midnight in Isola, and the cops on the night shift at the 87th Precinct brace themselves for another week of terrifying violence. But two separate crimes, utterly unlike each other, are already underway.
