Early edition later printing hardback of CHARLOTTE'S WEB by E.B. White and published by Harper & Row, Publishers in 1952 (no other date shown). There is a previous owner gift inscription on the half title page.

The book is in very good condition (pictorial front board with multi-coloured lettering to spine and front) with light creasing to the top and bottom edges of the spine and some age tanning to the page edges. The book is in a very good clipped dust jacket which has some light rubbing to the edges, light creasing to the top and bottom of the spine and top edge of the back cover as well as some light age tanning. Internally the pages are otherwise clean and tight and there are no tears or other inscriptions.

This is the story of a little girl named Fern who loved a little pig named Wilbur - and of Wilbur's dear friend Charlotte A. Cavatica, a beautiful large grey spider who lived with Wilbur in the barn with the help of Templeton, the rat who never did anything for anybody unless there was something in it for him.

It is a story of the magic of childhood on the farm. The thousands of children who loved Stuart Little, the heroic little city mouse, will be entranced with Charlotte the spider, Wilbur the pig, and Fern, the little girl who understood their language.

184 pages including forty-seven black and white drawings by Garth Williams.
