Duncan McKenzie is still remembered fondly as an extrovert on the soccer fields of the seventies. Fans loved him. Cloughie loved him, but not all the managers agreed. He played for some of the great clubs of the day including Nottingham Forest, Leeds United, Anderlecht and Everton. He was called up for England three times yet never gained a cap. Since retiring he has become one of the best sporting after-dinner speakers in the country.
The Last Fancy Dan is a chronicle of McKenzie's 40 year career in football. It not only provides a fascinating insight into the life of the most charismatic footballer never to play for England but also reveals his view of the modern game.
