Diana Cooper MEMOIRS First Edition 3 Book Set

First edition first print hardback set of three books that make up MEMOIRS (The Rainbow Comes and Goes 1958, The Light of Common Day 1959 and Trumpets from the Steep 1960) by Diana Cooper and published by Rupert Hart-Davis.

The books are in very good condition (cloth boards with gilt lettering to the spines) with light bumping to the corners. The books are in good dust jackets that have some age related wear including creasing and fraying to the edges and a few folding creases here and there. Trumpets from the Steep has been price clipped and The Light of Common Day has small inscriptions to the front inner flap. However, the books are still very presentable.

Three autobiographies by the most beautiful and influential woman of her day. Lady Diana Cooper was a prominent and beautiful social figure in London and Paris. The young Cooper moved in a celebrated group of intellectuals, but most of the men of this group were killed in the First World War. She married one of the few survivors, Duff Cooper, later Ambassador to France. After his death, she wrote three volumes of memoirs which reveal much about early 20th-century, upper-class life.

Pages include Illustrations, Appendices and Indexes.
