First edition, first print hardback of THE WORLD OF MINACK by Derek Tangye and published by Michael Joseph in 1991. Signed with a personal message by Tangye on the half title page and just Tangye's signature on the title page.

The book is in very good- condition (blue cloth boards with gold lettering to spine) with creasing to the top of the front board which also has very light creases to the bottom, and there is creasing to the top and bottom of the spine as well. The book is in a good unclipped dust jacket that is creased to the top and bottom of the front and back covers and spine. The jacket also has 3 one inch closed tears to the top and bottom corners of the front cover, top corner of the back cover and top of the spine which also has a very small open tear. Internally, the pages are clean and tight and there are no tears or other inscriptions.

The World of Minack reflects the years Derek Tangye spent at Minack with his wife Jeannie, before she died in 1986. It is a selection of favourite passages, many of them chosen by readers, from sixteen of the Minack Chronicles. With a special introduction and illustrated with colour photographs and Jeannie's drawings, some published here for the first time, it makes a glorious celebration of a way of life that has been an inspiration to generations of readers.
