Reprint paperback of THE MONSTER FISH by Denys Watkins-Pitchford (BB) and published by Scholastic Book Services in 1970ish. Illustrated by Bernard D'Andrea. Signed by Watkins-Pitchford on the title page. Originally published by Ernest Benn in 1967. Rather rare, especially signed. This looks to be a third printing of the USA edition. There is a numberline that reads: 13 12 11 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3. On the inside of the front cover there is an ex-libris book plate designed by BB for Bob Buteux, from whose library this came. Included are four photographs of BB - details below.The book is in good condition (pictorial card wraps) with minimal edge rubbing. The card covers are protected in a clear plastic cover. Internally the thin pages are heavily tanned around the edges but are otherwise clean and tight and there are no tears or other inscriptions.
Rare title featuring two young boys who are trying to catch the Whooper, a huge carp.

1) fishing at a Somerset Lake in 1950, taken by Richard Walker.
2) in his garden at the Roundhouse August 1987, holding the reel Richard Walker personally made for him.
3) in his garden holding 2 split cane rods (one made by Richard Walker) and a reel Walker also made for him.
4) in his garden again at the Roundhouse holding the split cane carp rod and reel that Richard Walker had personally made for him.
