First edition two volume hardback set of A PICTURE BOOK OF EVOLUTION Parts I and II by Dennis Hird and published by Watts & Co in 1906 and 1907. Signed to a previous owner and dated by Hird on the front endpapers of both volumes. Rare signed.

The books are in very good condition considering they are over 100 years old (green boards with with gilt lettering to spines) with light rubbing and bumping to edges and corners. Nothing much to speak of. Internally the pages are lightly age tanned but are otherwise clean and tight and there are no tears or other inscriptions.

Part One contains lessons from Astronomy; Geology; and Zoology. Part two contains lessons from Comparative Anatomy and Embryology; and Giving the Pedigree of Man
