1993 edition slipcased hardback set of ROYAL AIR FORCE 1939 - 1945 (Volumes 1 - 3) by Denis Richards and Hilary St. George Saunders and published by HMSO. Originally published by Crown in 1953.
All books are in very good+ condition (blue leatherbound boards with silver lettering to spine) with no significant wear. The books are in a very good slipcase which has slight bumping and dents here and there, however still very presentable. Internally the pages are clean and tight and there are no tears or other inscriptions.
This account of the part played by the Royal Air Force in the Second World War first appeared in 1954 and was based on the official sources. The present edition incorporates only minor changes but otherwise retains the text and the full flavour of the original. Despite all the studies of WWII which have come out since, this narration is still unsurpassed and has become a classic.
Books include Illustrations, Maps, Appendices and Index.
