The book is in very good condition (Clean quarter bound blue cloth with blue paper boards and gilt lettering on spine which has minor creasing to the spine edges) with only minor wear to the dust jacket, which is not price clipped (minute rubbing to the top corner at the back, light creasing to the bottom spine edges. There is a bookseller's security tag inside the jacket). Internally, the pages are clean and tight, there are no tears and no inscriptions. There are a couple of foxing spots on the page ends.

While living in Alexandria, Virginia, Baldacci wrote short stories and screenplays without much success. He turned to novel writing, taking three years to write Absolute Power. When it was published in 1996 it was an international best seller. The book was made into a film (1997) directed by Clint Eastwood and starring Clint Eastwood and Gene Hackman.
