First edition first print hardback of STAND BY, STAND BY by Chris Ryan and published by Century in 1996. Signed to a previous owner by Ryan on the title page.

The book is in near fine condition (black cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine) with no significant wear apart from some age tanning around the page edges. The book is in a very good unclipped dust jacket which has light creasing to the edges and a thumbnail closed tear to the top of the spine. Internally the pages are otherwise clean and tight and there are no tears or other inscriptions.

Geordie Sharp, a sergeant in the SAS, is struggling to pick up the threads of his army career. Wounded in the Gulf War, he returns to Hereford to find his home life in tatters.
