First edition first print hardback of THE LIFE OF OUR LORD by Charles Dickens and published by Associated Newspapers Ltd in 1934. Gilt top page edges.The book is in very good condition (blue boards, possibly leather, with gilt lettering to spine and front) with light bumping to the top corner of the back board, light creasing to the spine along with a small closed tear to the bottom edge and light age tanning to the pages and page edges. The book is in a very good unclipped dust jacket which has light creasing to the front cover, light rubbing here and there as well as some light staining. Internally the pages are otherwise clean and tight and there are no tears or inscriptions.
In this charming, simple retelling of the life of Jesus Christ, adapted from the Gospel of St. Luke, Dickens hoped to teach his young children about religion and faith.
