Bud Flanagan MY CRAZY LIFE First Edition Signed Dad's Army Theme Singer
First edition first print hardback of MY CRAZY LIFE by Bud Flanagan and published by Frederick Muller in 1961. Signed by Flanagan on the title page. Tinted top page edges. The hinge where the title page and frontispiece connect has been roughly repaired.
The book is in fair condition (blue boards with gilt lettering to spine) with light rubbing to board edges and some age blotching to the bottom of the title page. The book is in a fair price clipped dust jacket which has a couple of closed tears to the top edge, heavy creasing to the inside jacket flap, foxing to the inside top and bottom edges and some fraying to the head of the spine. Internally, the pages are otherwise clean and tight and there are no other inscriptions.
His parents were refugees from Poland, he has washed dishes all the way to New York, he's sold newspapers on Broadway, been gassed and injured in World War I; he's been a London taxi driver and a turf accountant and is one of the greatest comedians Britain has known. He is Bud Flanagan, and this is his story.
