Brian Jacques bestselling Redwall books star animals in medieval England who must protect their home against evil. Equal parts enchanting fantasy and morality tale, these adventure-filled books have captivated readers worldwide. The Redwall stories, which were to earn him legions of fans, were born out of his time as a volunteer storyteller at the Royal Wavertree School for the Blind in Liverpool. He also wrote the Castaways of the Flying Dutchman series. He died on February 5, 2011.

The drawings that open the chapters in a Redwall book may look sweet, but Brian Jacques' fantasies are not for the faint of heart. Adventure, peril, betrayal, and downright slaughter abound in these hefty novels about the creatures -- mice, hares, moles, badgers, and sparrows -- who inhabit Redwall Abbey in medieval England.

Lord Brocktree is the thirteenth tale in the Redwall series.

"The brazen, young haremaid Dotti and the badger-warrior Lord Brocktreeunlikely comradesset out for Salamandastron together, only to discover the legendary mountain has been captured by the wildcat Ungatt Trunn and his Blue Hordes.

This is not what they expected! Seized by rage, the badger knows bloodwrath is not enough. To face the Blue Hordes, the two must rally an army - hares and otters, shrews and moles, mice and squirrels - and execute a plan that makes up in cleverness what it lacks in force!

With the spellbinding magic that is only Redwall, master storyteller Brian Jacques brings this thirteenth novel in the epic gloriously to life, dramatically revealing the power and beauty of true friendship."
