Bernard Aldrich THE EVER-ROLLING STREAM First Edition

First edition first print hardback of THE EVER-ROLLING STREAM by Bernard Aldrich (Foreword by HRH The Prince of Wales) and published by George Allen & Unwin Ltd in 1984.

The book is in very good condition (blue cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine) with very light colour fading to the bottom edges of both boards and light creasing to the top edge of the back board. The book is in a very good unclipped dust jacket which has light creasing to the top and bottom of the front and back covers and spine. The inner dust jacket is lightly age spotted. Internally the pages are lightly age tanned but clean and tight and there are no tears or inscriptions.

Bernard Aldrich, as river keeper on the Mountbatten estate at Broadlands, has looked after one of the most beautiful and unspoiled chalk streams in England for twenty-eight years.

A true countryman, he has worked tirelessly to protect the flora and fauna of his stretch of the River Test against the ever-present threat of pollution, drainage, poaching and vandalism. The author's deep concern for the plants and animals of the riverside as well as his determination to improve the fish life for the anglers is told with optimism and good humour.

H.R.H. The Prince of Wales who as a young boy recieved fly fishing training from the author, has written the Foreword to this book.
