The book is in fine condition (cream marble effect with red lettering to spine and an illustration to the front board) with no significant wear. The slipcase is in near fine condition and also has no wear to speak of. Internally, the pages are clean and tight and there are no tears or inscriptions.

A dramatisation of The Scarlet Pimpernel, written by Baroness Orczy and her husband, Montague Barstow, was first performed in 1903 in Nottingham, and began a successful run in London in 1905. The novel was first published in 1905 by Greening & Co. Ltd.
