ASD 548 Elgar ENIGMA VARIATIONS Vinyl LP First Pressing

33rpm LP Record of ASD 548 Elgar ENIGMA VARIATIONS and Cockaigne Overture, featuring The Philharmonia Orchestra conducted by Sir John Barbirolli. It was issued on the stereo EMI first gold and cream label in 1963. UK pressing.

The record itself is graded very good for Side 1 with a noticeable non-feelable hairline and excellent for Side 2, with no more the odd light surface mark visible when viewed under normal house lighting. Play-tested on a USB turntable. Superb sound quality, with NO jumps, repetitive ticks or crackle and just a couple of light pops. Hardly worth mentioning. Otherwise pretty much faultless playback.

Minimal to no spindle wear. Labels clean. Some light spider marks.

The outer flipback sleeve is graded very good, with bumping/rubbing to all four corners, the tiniest bit of ringwear to the back cover which is also very lightly soiled. The pinched spine is intact and strong with no loss to the lettering. The inner sleeve has age related wear, thumbnail split to one edge, thumbnail tear to top open edge.
