Alexander Newley UNACCOMPANIED MINOR First Edition Signed

First edition first print hardback of UNACCOMPANIED MINOR (A Memoir) by Alexander (Sacha) Newley and published by Quartet Books Ltd in 2017. Signed (to a previous owner) by Newley on the half title page.

The book is in very good condition (black cloth boards with silver lettering to spine) with light bumping to the top and bottom edges of the spine. The book is in a very good unclipped dust jacket which has very light creasing here and there and a small tear to the bottom edge of the spine. Internally the pages are clean and tight and there are no tears or other inscriptions.

This book, written with humour and compassion, tells the story of Alexanders nomadic childhood; the disintegration of his parents marriage; and his battle to make sense of the past. It is also a meditation on art, identity and inheritance, and a portrait of London and Hollywood during the swinging sixties and the seventies. Complementing Alexanders vivid and razor-sharp prose are more than twenty of his own artworks depicting the people who played a pivotal role in his early years.
