Alan Garner RED SHIFT First Edition

First edition, first print hardback of RED SHIFT, by Alan Garner and published by William Collins Sons and Co Ltd in 1973. The author's fifth novel and the next one after his acclaimed book, The Owl Service

The book itself is in very good condition (clean black boards and bright gold lettering to spine) in a good+ dust jacket, which is price clipped (rubbing to edges, 2 cm closed tear to top front corner). Internally, the pages are clean and tight and there are no tears. There is a previous owner name neatly written in the top corner of the front endpaper.

In Red Shift conventional time means little, and physical place a lot. Lives which appear to be lived in different historical periods are bound together by a power that is outside space and time.

158 pages.
