First edition first print hardback of MASTER AIRMAN (a biography of Air Vice-Marshal Donald Bennett) by Alan Bramson and published by Airlife Publishing Ltd in 1990. Signed by Donald Bennett and inscribed to a previous owner by Wing Commander Hamish Mahaddie (who is mentioned in the book) on the dedication page.

The book is in very good condition (blue cloth boards with gold lettering to spine) with light age related wear. The book is in a very good- unclipped dust jacket which has slight fading to the colour on the front cover. Internally the pages are clean and tight with just a small stain to the front page edges.

Donald Bennett was only 32 when 'Bomber' Harris made him an Air Vice-Marshal and put him in charge of the Pathfinder Force which undoubtedly turned the hit-or-miss performance of Bomber Command into one of the most decisive factors in the defeat of the mightly and highly professional German war machine.
