A Box Set of THREE 33rpm LP Records: JOSEPH HAYDN THE SEASONS (SKL 940-942 - 104 940-942), featuring the Vienna Philharmonic conducted by Karl Bohm. The cast includes Gundula Janowitz, Peter Schreier and Martti Talvela. It was issued on the Stereo Deutsche Grammophon tulips label. Included is a booklet containing background notes and libretto in English, French and German. The booklet appears to have been signed by Gundula Janowitz (see picture below). German pressing.
The records themselves are in excellent condition, with no visible marks when viewed under normal domestic lighting. Excellent sound quality, with NO jumps, ticks or crackle and only the odd light pop, which a deep clean will probably eradicate. I can only to a light surface clean. Overall just about faultless playback.
Minimal to no spindle wear. Labels very clean, no discernible spider marks.
The box is in very good, clean and sturdy condition and would be graded excellent but for some sticker removal residue in the top corner of the front cover (see picture). The original inner sleeves are in excellent condition, as is the booklet.
We can only say that the booklet appears to have been signed by the great soprano Gundula Janowitz because we were not present at the time of signing, although the signature bears a more than reasonable likeness to others we have seen that have proven to have been signed by her. We have every reason to believe that this one is also genuine.
